What does lacquered mean?
Lacquered containers have a protective coating on the inside which prevents the metal from rusting or oxidising when used with water-based products.
Some of our lacquered products, such as our aluminium bottles are lacquered to make them suitable for food use. The lacquer protects the food from metal contamination or discolouration as well as preventing acidic products from corroding the container.
Some of our products, including our lever lid tins, pails and rectangles have an external lacquer or coating. This is usually white. This external lacquer protects the metal from environmental damage.
N.B. Where a metal product is described as plain, then no internal coating has been applied.
